NIPOST Explores Digital Partnerships with Galaxy Backbone to Boost National Addressing System

The Postmaster General and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST), Omotola Odeyemi, has visited Galaxy Backbone Limited to discuss potential collaboration on cloud services, data hosting, and digital infrastructure.
The meeting focused on supporting the implementation of Nigeria’s newly approved GIS-enabled digital postcode system, a project endorsed by the Federal Executive Council to modernize the country’s national addressing framework.
“Our goal is to leverage advanced technology to make postal services more efficient and reliable while strengthening the national addressing system for all Nigerians,” Odeyemi said.
Representatives of Galaxy Backbone highlighted the importance of such collaboration in ensuring robust digital infrastructure to support government services.
“By partnering with NIPOST, we can enhance the delivery of digital services and create a seamless, GIS-enabled postcode system that benefits citizens and government operations alike,” a Galaxy Backbone spokesperson said.
Both organizations reaffirmed their commitment to deepening collaboration, emphasizing the role of technology in advancing Nigeria’s digital transformation and strengthening shared government platforms.
“This partnership is a key step toward integrating modern digital solutions into public service delivery, ensuring that Nigeria keeps pace with global standards in postal and addressing systems,” Odeyemi added.
