The Honourable Minister of Information, Muhammed Idris, has met with the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, to explore coordinated public communication strategies aimed at boosting security across Nigeria.

The meeting, held at the Ministry of Interior headquarters in Abuja, focused on the establishment of a unified communication framework that will improve the coordination of security operations in the fight against terrorism, banditry, and other threats.
Minister Idris emphasized the importance of strategic and synchronized messaging in strengthening national security.

“A coordinated and unified communication strategy will not only enhance public awareness but also support the operational efficiency of our security agencies in tackling terrorism and banditry,” Idris said.
During the engagement, Minister Tunji-Ojo highlighted several achievements of the Ministry of Interior, including clearing passport backlogs, implementing contactless passport renewals for Nigerians in the diaspora, deploying advanced border management technologies, modernizing immigration processes, and improving service delivery for citizens both domestically and abroad.

“Our reforms are designed to ensure seamless service delivery while also enhancing national security through technology-driven solutions and streamlined processes,” Tunji-Ojo said.
The meeting reinforced the commitment of both ministries to collaborate on public communication initiatives that keep citizens informed and engaged while supporting Nigeria’s broader security objectives.
