Vice President Kashim Shettima has assured families of military and police personnel killed in a recent attack in Shanga Local Government Area of Kebbi State of the Federal Government’s continued support.
Speaking on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Shettima said the administration remains committed to ensuring that the sacrifices of fallen officers are not in vain.
The Vice President gave the assurance on Tuesday in Birnin Kebbi, the Kebbi State capital, during a condolence visit to Governor Nasir Idris following the killing of security operatives in the state.
He also commiserated with the government and people of Kebbi State over the death of the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Muhammad Usman Zuru, who died on April 7 in Cairo, Egypt.
Shettima reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to the welfare of members of the armed forces and other security agencies, noting that supporting the families of fallen heroes remains a top priority of the Tinubu administration.
The visit comes amid renewed concerns over security challenges in parts of the country, particularly in areas affected by insurgent attacks.
