Voting has commenced at the national convention of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), marking a critical phase in the party’s efforts to address its ongoing leadership issues.
A total of 2,105 delegates were expected to participate in the convention, but 1,542 were successfully accredited and are eligible to vote.
Officials overseeing the exercise say the process is proceeding in an orderly manner, with delegates casting their votes based on the alphabetical order of their states, beginning with Abia State.
Earlier concerns involving delegates from Plateau State have been resolved. A party official announced that the matter had been settled, with the party chairman confirming that Plateau delegates will participate in the voting process when it reaches their turn in the alphabetical sequence.
The convention is a key step in determining the party’s leadership structure and shaping its direction ahead of future political engagements.
