Rivers APC Suspends Fubara Over Alleged Anti-Party Actions

David Egbede, March 27, 2026

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has suspended a key party member, Fubara Dagogo, over allegations of anti-party activities and misconduct.

The decision was reached by the Ward 4 Executive Committee in Bonny Local Government Area following concerns about his actions against the party.

Dagogo’s suspension stems from a lawsuit he filed at a Federal High Court in Abuja, seeking to stop the APC’s planned national convention.

He claimed he was unfairly excluded from contesting for the position of National Vice-Chairman (South-South), despite paying N5.1 million for the nomination form.

In his suit, he asked the court to halt the South-South zonal congress, recognize his candidacy, nullify any election conducted without his participation, and award him N100 million in damages for alleged marginalization.

However, party leaders at the ward level described his legal action as a violation of APC rules and internal discipline.

Ward Chairman Richard Ibani stated that the suspension was approved during a meeting held on March 16 and takes immediate effect.

According to the ward executives, Dagogo’s actions contravene provisions of the APC Constitution and undermine party unity.

“The ward exco has consistently warned members against actions capable of ridiculing the party, but your recent conduct shows disregard for party rules,” the statement read.

The suspension is indefinite, with the ward leadership urging the state chapter of the APC to uphold the decision and take further necessary steps.
