The 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, has held strategic talks with leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) amid growing indications of a possible defection.
Kwankwaso met with the ADC National Secretary, Rauf Aregbesola, on Thursday as part of ongoing consultations with the party’s leadership.
Sources indicate the meeting is part of final discussions ahead of his anticipated move to the opposition party.
Following his engagement with Aregbesola, Kwankwaso also hosted ADC stakeholders from Kano at his Abuja residence, further signaling deepening ties with the party.
The development comes shortly after a series of high-profile political meetings. Kwankwaso recently received former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, and Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde.
He also disclosed via his official Facebook page that Senator Seriake Dickson was among prominent figures who visited him in Kano.
These engagements have fueled speculation of an emerging political alliance and possible realignments ahead of future elections.
