The Ghana Football Association has appointed experienced Portuguese tactician Carlos Queiroz as the new head coach of the senior national team, the Black Stars.
The decision was confirmed by the GFA’s Executive Council following consultations with key stakeholders, with Queiroz set to lead Ghana into the 2026 FIFA World Cup, co-hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
Queiroz brings a wealth of international experience, having guided teams like South Africa, Portugal, and Iran to World Cup appearances. He has also managed Egypt, Oman, Japan, and Qatar, alongside club roles at Real Madrid and Manchester United.
He is expected to bring tactical discipline and top-level expertise as Ghana prepares for a challenging group stage, where they will face Panama, England, and Croatia, kicking off their campaign on June 17, 2026, in Toronto, Canada.
