Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Policy Communication, has responded to questions regarding the president’s state visit to the United Kingdom.
RBN reports that Tinubu had embarked on a two-day state visit to the UK, where he received some diplomatic show of soft power by the UK’s King Charles III.
The trip drew backlash from opposition leaders, who doubted its significance given the country’s pressing issues.
In a Facebook post on Friday, Daniel Bwala highlighted the key reasons for the landmark trip.
He wrote, “Some people are saying, “Why go to the UK?” Look, I hope you all know that you don’t grow and develop Nigeria by sitting at home and waiting.
“This visit is about opening doors: more investment, more jobs, and more opportunities for our people. His Majesty, King Charles has shown practicable commitment to partner with Nigeria on areas of mutual trust
“President Tinubu is making sure Nigeria is seen, heard, and respected on the world stage.
“That’s how you move a country forward, not by staying quiet”.
