Vinícius Júnior has provided a reassuring update on his contract situation at Real Madrid, confirming that his long-term renewal will happen “at the right time.”
Speaking about his future, the Brazilian forward said, “I hope I can stay here for a long time. I still have a year left on my contract, but I’m very calm.”
He added, “I have the president’s confidence. At the right time, I’ll renew and stay here for a long time, because this is my dream club.”
His comments suggest a renewed harmony with the club’s leadership, following earlier tensions during the season that reportedly involved a fallout with former manager Xabi Alonso.
Since Álvaro Arbeloa stepped in, Vinícius’ relationship with the coaching staff and management has significantly improved, strengthening his desire to remain at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.
Despite his public commitment, negotiations for a contract extension—currently set to run until 2027 with a €1 billion release clause—have been slow. The main hurdle remains salary expectations, as his camp is reportedly pushing for a deal comparable to that of teammate Kylian Mbappé.
Meanwhile, interest from abroad, particularly from the Saudi Pro League, continues to linger after a record-breaking bid in 2024.
