Robertson to Leave Liverpool at End of Season

David Egbede, April 10, 2026April 10, 2026

Andy Robertson will depart Liverpool FC this summer when his contract expires, bringing an end to a successful nine-year spell at Anfield.

The 32-year-old left-back, who joined from Hull City AFC in 2017, played a key role in the club’s recent success, winning multiple major honours including the Premier League and Champions League.

In a video message, Robertson said: “I think now’s the time for me to move on”.

Reflecting on his journey, he added: “The nine years I’ll look back on with a big smile on my face.”

Robertson has made 373 appearances and lifted nine trophies during his time at the club, but has seen limited game time this season under manager Arne Slot following increased competition in his position.

“This club means everything to me, the fans mean everything to me, the people connected to the club mean everything to me,” he said.

“I think I owe it to them still to, until my very last day, I’ll give everything to this football club, which I’ve done over the last nine years and I’m very proud of that.

“The time to have the emotional farewell and tell the fans and the people connected to this club what they mean to me, that will come closer to the end. I don’t think I’m quite ready for that yet.”
