Osun PDP Backs Adeleke for Re-election Under Accord Party

David Egbede, March 3, 2026March 3, 2026

The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has formally endorsed Governor Ademola Adeleke’s bid for re-election under the Accord Party (AP) ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

At a stakeholders’ meeting on Monday in Osogbo, PDP Chairman Hon. Sunday Bisi called on all party structures to mobilize fully behind Adeleke, urging unwavering support across the state.

“After consultations with elders and leaders across the three senatorial districts, the PDP directs all structures to give total and uncompromising support to Governor Adeleke’s re-election under the Accord platform,” Bisi said.

Adeleke first came into office as governor of Osun State under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, having won the 2022 governorship election on the party’s ticket.

However, towards the end of 2025, he formally exited the PDP and joined the Accord Party, where he was subsequently cleared as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2026 polls.

The Osun PDP’s decision to endorse his re‑election bid under the Accord banner reflects a broader political alignment ahead of the August election.
