The Labour Party has unveiled the composition of electoral subcommittees to oversee its forthcoming congresses across the states.
The party said the committees, made up of selected chairmen and members, will supervise ward, local government and state congresses scheduled for April 23, 24 and 25, 2026, respectively.
According to the list released, which was signed by Senior Special Adviser (Media) to the interim national chairman, Ken Asogwa. Hon. Iheanacho Obioma will chair the Abia committee, while Francis Kim (Adamawa), Ekong Philip Solomon (Akwa Ibom), Chief Tony Asuoha (Anambra), and Malam Mustapha Adamu (Bauchi) will head committees in their respective states.
Others include Beredugo Ebimonyo (Bayelsa), Chief John Ochoga (Benue), Comrade Buratai (Borno), Urom Iyang (Cross River), Hon. Chuks Onitsha (Delta), Chief Mitchell Nwabueze (Ebonyi), and Comrade Saliu Edogiawerie (Edo), alongside appointees for other states and the Federal Capital Territory.
In a message to the appointees, the party’s National Chairman, Nenadi Usman, charged them to ensure credibility in the process.
“You must carry out your responsibilities with utmost fairness, transparency, and integrity,” she said.
She added, “The values of equal opportunity and social justice must guide your actions, and the credibility of our party must be upheld throughout the congress process.”
The party also confirmed that its National Convention will hold on April 28, 2026, in Umuahia, Abia State, assuring members of a hitch-free exercise.
“We have put all necessary arrangements in place to ensure a smooth, successful, and transparent convention,” the party stated.
