Senior Nigerian government officials have held an investment roundtable with United Kingdom investors in London as part of engagements ahead of the visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the UK later this week.
According to an update from the Presidential Villa, the meeting brought together Nigeria’s Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun; the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission, Aisha Rimi; and the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
They met with investors including Lord Marland and representatives of the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council to discuss trade, investment opportunities, and private sector collaboration between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
The roundtable is taking place on the sidelines of activities linked to President Tinubu’s state visit and is aimed at strengthening economic ties between Nigeria and the UK.
Also, on Sunday night, Nigeria’s Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, and the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake, held a meeting with UK-based Nigerian media executives and leaders.
Present at the meeting were Special Advisers to the President, Bayo Onanuga and Sunday Dare, as well as Senior Special Assistants to the President, Temitope Ajayi, Otega Ogra and Linda Akhigbe.
