A Federal High Court in Kaduna State has postponed the bail hearing of former Governor Nasir El-Rufai to March 31, 2026.
The adjournment followed Tuesday’s session, during which lawyers for both the defense and the prosecution presented their arguments before the court.
During the hearing, Ubong Akpan, counsel to El-Rufai, requested that the former governor be granted bail, emphasizing his client’s constitutional rights and the necessity of sufficient time to prepare a proper defense.
The prosecution, however, opposed the bail application, contending that the charges against El-Rufai are serious and that releasing him could potentially affect ongoing investigations.
