The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that the sale of e-PINs for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will end at midnight on Thursday, February 26, 2026.
The Board stated that candidates who have already purchased their e-PINs are required to complete their registration at accredited centres no later than Saturday.
JAMB revealed that more than 1.5 million candidates have registered for the examination so far. “As of Wednesday, February 17, 2026, over 1.5 million applications had been successfully processed”.
Although registration centres nationwide can handle up to 100,000 candidates daily, they are currently operating at just about 30 percent of their capacity, suggesting that a significant number of prospective candidates have yet to register.
The Board stressed that there will be no extension of the registration deadline, explaining that its schedule is aligned with those of other national examination bodies.
It, therefore, advised candidates to obtain their e-PINs before the closing date and proceed promptly to accredited centres, cautioning that last-minute rushes could result in unnecessary difficulties. “The Board wishes to clearly state that there will be no extension of the registration deadline”. “Candidates are therefore strongly advised to act now,” JAMB said.
