The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has confirmed carrying out a strike on Imam Hossein University, which it described as the principal military university linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
According to the IDF, the institution was allegedly operating under the guise of a civilian facility while functioning as a center for the research and development of advanced weapons.
The Israeli military also claimed that the university’s close association with the IRGC and its involvement in supporting militant activities have prompted several countries to impose sanctions on the institution and some of its top officials.
“STRUCK: The IRGC’s main military university, Imam Hossein University.
“Under civilian cover, research and development for advanced weaponry were conducted within the university.
“Due to its direct affiliation with the IRGC and its involvement in advancing terrorist activity, several countries have imposed sanctions on the university and its senior officials,” IDF said.
