David Egbede, February 28, 2026February 28, 2026

Iran has begun striking U.S. military bases in Qatar, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait.

The escalation follows recent attacks on Iran by Israeli forces and the United States.
According to Al Jazeera, Qatar, Kuwait and the UAE have shut their airspace after explosions were reported in Kuwait.

Qatar’s Defence Ministry confirmed on Saturday that its Patriot air defence system intercepted an Iranian missile.

Explosions were also reported in Bahrain, where authorities said a missile attack targeted the headquarters of the U.S. Navy’s 5th Fleet.

Reuters further reported that a loud blast was heard in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
