I Dare You to Debate With Me on TV – ADC Spokesman Abdullahi Challenges Onanuga

David Egbede, February 27, 2026February 27, 2026

Bolaji Abdullahi, National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has challenged Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, to a debate on national television.

Abdullahi issued the challenge on Friday while speaking on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief.

Addressing the 2027 general elections, he warned that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is reportedly planning to rig the polls.

Abdullahi said, “If you can get Bayo Onanuga to come on TV to debate this with me, I will be ready to debate. Not just reading his statement. Let him come and debate this with me. Let us sit down and face each other and let him show us how this Electoral Act that they have passed will improve the transparency and the credibility of the election”.

“What you see about this APC government is that they seem to be irritated that there is opposition at all. The response you get from them is, who are these people asking us questions? They would rather nobody ask questions. They would rather nobody challenge them.

“You can see the kind of language they use, the kind of insulting and degrading language they use. I was reading the statement released by the APC National Public Secretary, Felix Morka and I was wondering. We have children for God’s sake. What are we teaching them?”

He further vowed that the opposition would not be silenced.
