A fire broke out on Monday at the Old Terminal 1 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja, Lagos, prompting an emergency response from aviation authorities and security agencies.

The Airport Police Command said it received a distress call at about 3:45 p.m. from the Aviation Security base station, reporting flames at the terminal, which is currently undergoing major renovation.

In response, the command activated emergency protocols and coordinated with the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) Rescue and Fire Fighting Services and the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service.
