Portuguese football icon Cristiano Ronaldo has announced that he has acquired a 25 percent ownership stake in Spanish club UD Almeria, officially becoming a co-owner of the side.

Ronaldo revealed that investing in the club fulfills a long-held ambition to impact the game beyond his playing career.

“It has been a longtime ambition of mine to contribute to football, beyond the pitch,” Ronaldo said. “I’m happy to become co-owner at UD Almeria by buying 25% of the club.”

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner described Almeria as a club with strong structural foundations and promising prospects for the future.

“Almeria is a Spanish club with strong foundations and a clear potential for growth. I look forward to working alongside their leadership team to support the club’s next phase of growth,” he added.

Ronaldo’s move marks another significant step in his expanding portfolio off the field, as he transitions into football ownership while continuing to shape his legacy within the sport.
