The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) quickly mobilised top party figures to Bauchi State after Governor Bala Mohammed reportedly showed interest in joining the opposition.
According to the party, the APC sent its National Chairman alongside some governors in a bid to convince him to stay.
“The hustle is real. A few hours after Governor Bala Mohammed indicated his plan to join the ADC, the APC dispatched its National Chairman and governors to Bauchi to beg him, promising to receive him on his terms,” the party said.
ADC described the move as a sign of mounting pressure within the ruling party.
“So, it takes only one defection to bring these people down from their haughty horses,” it added.
Despite the efforts, the party insisted the situation may already be beyond repair.
“But we know it is too late. Sorry, ADC is rising, Nigeria is rising,” the statement added.
