Arsenal FC missed the opportunity to open a 12-point lead at the top of the Premier League after suffering a 2-1 defeat to AFC Bournemouth on Saturday.
The Gunners had earlier stretched their advantage to nine points following a 2-0 victory over Everton FC, while Manchester City FC were held to a 1-1 draw by West Ham United FC.
Hoping to widen the gap further, Arsenal were instead stunned when Bournemouth took the lead in the first half, with Kroupi Jr finishing from close range at the near post.
Arsenal responded before halftime, as Viktor Gyökeres calmly converted a penalty to restore parity.
However, Bournemouth dealt a major blow to Arsenal’s title ambitions when Alex Scott netted a late winner at the Emirates Stadium.
The result leaves the door open for Manchester City to cut the gap if they secure victory against Chelsea FC on Sunday.
