The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has raised alarm over alleged interference ahead of its planned convention in Abuja, claiming that the management of Rainbow Event Centre was pressured to deny the party access to the venue.

In a statement shared by ADC spokesperson Bolaji Abdullahi, the party said it had fulfilled all financial obligations and finalized arrangements for the event, only to be informed at the last minute of external pressure.

“After paying all the fees required, setting up for our convention tomorrow, the owner of Rainbow Event Centre has just informed us that he has come under pressure from the FCDA and Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, that if he allows the ADC the use of his facilities, his licence will be revoked,” the statement read.

Despite the development, the party insisted it would proceed with the convention as scheduled. “But we have already signed the contract with him. We will hold our convention tomorrow as planned at the Rainbow Event Centre,” Abdullahi added.
The ADC further condemned what it described as intimidation, declaring, “We will not bow to this creeping tyranny. And definitely not to this petty tyrant.”
Reaffirming its stance, the party concluded: “ADC is rising, Nigeria is rising.”
