David Egbede, April 8, 2026

No fewer than 1,176 artisans in Etsako Federal Constituency have benefited from an empowerment programme facilitated by Anamero Dekeri, the lawmaker representing the constituency in the House of Representatives.

Speaking during the distribution event in Okpella on Wednesday, Dekeri said the initiative was aimed at improving skills and enhancing the livelihoods of beneficiaries.

The programme covered participants from the three local government areas in the constituency—Etsako East, Etsako West, and Etsako Central—with training provided in areas such as hairdressing, farming, mechanics, and welding.

Dekeri also commended political leaders in the state for fostering an enabling environment that supports impactful initiatives.

He stressed that democracy must positively affect people’s lives, noting his commitment to empowering constituents economically across various trades.

According to him, “I will continue to strive to create other opportunities that will make life worth living for our people.’’

Reflecting on his performance at the National Assembly, the lawmaker emphasized his dedication to service, stating:

“I have no other business at the National Assembly than to serve your interest. Whatever I need to do to ensure that all that belongs to Etsako Federal Constituency gets across to us, I will do it.

“I have committed myself to the service of Etsako Federal Constituency and I will continue to serve you to the best of my abilities.”

Dekeri further revealed that the current initiative would not be the last, adding that another large-scale empowerment programme is already planned for later in the year.

He also expressed appreciation to political leaders, ward chairmen, and other stakeholders across the constituency, assuring them of his consistency.

“I have never failed in keeping my promises and I will not fail you all.’’

Beneficiaries, visibly excited, expressed strong support for the lawmaker’s continued leadership, praising his efforts in driving development across the constituency.

According to them, “Anamero Dekeri (DANCO) has shown visible commitment to constituency development through practical interventions that directly touch the lives of ordinary people across Etsako Constituency.

“He is not a billboard politician but a man that believes in the politics of impact.

“Our children now write WAEC with their mates without staying behind because he took it upon himself to bear the burden of WAEC for students every year across the constituency.’’

Items distributed included sewing machines, deep freezers, hair-drying machines, welding equipment, farm chemicals, sprayers, and other agricultural tools.

Members of the Nigerian Automobile Technicians Association (NATA) received complete mechanical and electrical toolboxes, while welders and alumaco workers were also equipped with specialized tools for their trades.
