The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced plans to hold a global press conference on Thursday as part of preparations for its 2026 National Convention.
The disclosure was made by Mohammed Idris, Co-Chairman of the Convention’s Media and Publicity Committee, during a committee meeting on Tuesday. He said the briefing would outline the party’s expectations and provide updates on arrangements for the convention.
Idris urged committee members to work collaboratively to ensure effective communication and the successful delivery of the event, stressing the need for unity and sacrifice in line with the party’s vision.
He also noted that while the APC remains Africa’s largest political party, it must continue to uphold strong internal democratic principles. He referenced the leadership style of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, highlighting his commitment to internal democratic processes.
The convention is scheduled to take place from March 27 to 28, 2026, in Abuja, and is expected to serve as a key milestone in strengthening the party’s internal structures.
The meeting was attended by notable stakeholders, including Bayo Onanuga, Sunday Dare, Yemi Adaramodu, Akin Rotimi, Tunde Rahman, Istifanus Gyang, Mary Ikoku, and Abimbola Tooki, among others.
