Tech entrepreneur Elon Musk on Saturday volunteered to cover the salaries of security staff at U.S. airports amid a political deadlock over funding for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
The funding gap has caused unusually long lines at airport security, with Transportation Security Agency (TSA) employees working without pay since mid-February.
“I would like to offer to pay the salaries of TSA personnel during this funding impasse that is negatively affecting the lives of so many Americans at airports throughout the country,” Musk posted on X.
