Manchester City were held to a 1–1 draw by West Ham United in their Premier League encounter on Saturday at the London Stadium, dropping crucial points in the title race.
City opened the scoring in the 31st minute when Bernardo Silva chipped the ball over West Ham goalkeeper Mads Hermansen to give the visitors the lead.
However, the hosts responded just four minutes later as Konstantinos Mavropanos powered in a header from a corner delivered by Jarrod Bowen.
Despite dominating possession and creating numerous chances in the second half, City were unable to find a winning goal.
Striker Erling Haaland had several opportunities but failed to convert as West Ham’s defence and goalkeeper stood firm to secure a valuable point.
The result is a setback for City in the title race, leaving them nine points behind league leaders Arsenal, although they still have a game in hand.
For West Ham, the draw proved significant in their fight against relegation, lifting them just above the drop zone with 29 points from 30 matches.
