Real Madrid produced a dominant performance to secure a comfortable 4–1 victory over Elche, keeping pressure on league leaders FC Barcelona in the title race.

The hosts took control late in the first half when defender Antonio Rüdiger opened the scoring in the 39th minute after reacting quickly to a rebound.

Just five minutes later, midfielder Federico Valverde doubled the lead with a powerful strike to give Madrid a comfortable advantage before halftime.

Real Madrid extended their lead in the second half when youngster Dean Huijsen scored the third goal in the 66th minute following a well-delivered cross.

Elche briefly reduced the deficit after an own goal from Madrid’s Manuel Ángel Morán in the 85th minute.

However, Madrid sealed the victory in style when Turkish midfielder Arda Güler scored a spectacular long-range effort in the 89th minute to make it 4–1.

The win keeps Real Madrid firmly in the race for the La Liga title, moving them within one point of Barcelona at the top of the table.
