Peter Obi Media Office Denies Bwala’s Claims, Rejects ‘Transactional Politics’

David Egbede, March 13, 2026March 13, 2026

The Peter Obi Media Reach (POMR) has dismissed claims by Barrister Daniel Bwala that former presidential candidate Peter Obi sought his engagement in political dealings.

In a statement released on Thursday, POMR described the allegations as “fallacious” and “baseless,” emphasizing that Obi excludes individuals like Bwala from his political activities.

“Our principal, Peter Obi, has made it clear that he excludes individuals like Bwala from his political activities and any form of transactional politics that sustain people like him in political circles,” the statement said.

“The Peter Obi that Nigerians know and appreciate will never engage in such practices. He would rather allocate resources to provide desks for children in Bwala’s village than pay him to concoct falsehoods for public consumption.”

POMR further highlighted Obi’s approach to politics as being rooted in good governance and shared civic responsibility. “His ‘engagement’ focuses on persuasion, emphasizing the urgent need for a collective effort to rescue our nation. He welcomes those who choose to join him voluntarily, driven by the same deep-seated convictions,” the media office added.

The statement also served as a caution to others involved in transactional politics, urging them to reconsider their actions. “For the umpteenth time, we call on Bwala and others like him to count Peter Obi out of their greed, repent, and join us in the quest for a new Nigeria that is indeed POssible,” said POMR spokesman Ibrahim Umar.
