Governor of Benue State, Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has announced a strong offensive against insecurity, assuring residents that his administration will take decisive steps to restore peace across the state.
In a statement issued by the Governor’s Technical Adviser on Media, Publicity and Strategic Communication, Solomon Iorpev, Alia revealed that security personnel have been deployed and reinforced in troubled communities in Kwande and other affected local government areas.
The governor commended security agencies for their dedication and efforts in stabilising the impacted communities.
He emphasised that those responsible for violent attacks and other security violations would be tracked down, arrested and prosecuted.
According to him, the latest deployment of security operatives is part of a wider strategy aimed at tackling insecurity in the state.
Alia reaffirmed his administration’s determination to go after criminal elements threatening the peace of Benue, assuring residents that the safety of their lives, livelihoods and farmlands remains a top priority.
He added that his government would not be deterred by attempts by criminals to destabilise communities, stressing that perpetrators of violence would face the full force of the law.
The governor also reassured residents that his administration remains fully committed to protecting lives and property across the state.
“Let this be a warning to all perpetrators of insecurity: Governor Alia will not be intimidated. I will not be deterred. I will crush insecurity in Benue State,” he declared.
