PDP Crisis: Wike Tells Aggrieved Members, ‘We’ll Be Ready at Supreme Court’

David Egbede, March 9, 2026March 9, 2026

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has told the Taminu Turaki-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that he and his allies are prepared should they choose to approach the Supreme Court.

Wike made the remark on Monday after his faction of the party secured victory in nine appeals filed against them by the Makinde-backed Turaki group.

It would be recalled that the Court of Appeal in Abuja on Monday dismissed an appeal brought before it by the Turaki-led faction of the party.

The appellate court also affirmed the earlier ruling of the Federal High Court in Abuja, which on October 31, 2025, restrained the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognizing the outcome of the PDP’s 2025 National Convention.

Reacting, Wike said, “Today’s judgement is an opportunity for PDP to reconcile, but if they decide to go to the Supreme Court, it won’t augur well for the party.

“If they insist on going to the Supreme Court, we’ll be ready for them. We won all nine appeals against them Today in court, and each comes with N2m cost totalling N18m against them.”
