Governor Abdullahi Sule has signalled early succession plans ahead of the 2027 elections, naming Senator Aliyu Wadada as his preferred governorship candidate under the All Progressives Congress.
Sule made the declaration on Thursday during a meeting with political appointees at the Government House in Lafia, setting the tone for political realignments within the state.
Wadada, who represents Nasarawa West Senatorial District in the 10th Senate, recently defected from the Social Democratic Party to the APC amid growing speculation over his ambition to contest the governorship seat.
The governor’s endorsement is expected to influence early positioning within the ruling party as stakeholders begin consultations and alignments ahead of the next general elections.
