West Ham ended Michael Carrick’s perfect start as Manchester United’s interim manager, holding the visitors to a 1-1 draw at the London Stadium on Tuesday.

The result marked United’s first dropped points under Carrick, while West Ham earned a hard-fought draw against an improving United side.

The teams went into halftime scoreless after a tightly contested opening period. West Ham broke the deadlock in the 50th minute when Tomáš Souček converted Jarrod Bowen’s assist to put the hosts ahead.

United pressed for an equalizer and found it deep into stoppage time. Bruno Fernandes scored in the sixth minute of added time to secure a point and deny West Ham the victory.

Diogo Dalot was booked in the 57th minute, and a VAR review involving Casemiro followed in the 63rd, though no further action was taken.
