Details of the United States’ 15-point proposal, which was sent to Iran with the aim of ending the ongoing crisis, has been revealed.
Reuters reports that the plan has been communicated to Iran.
Also, the New York Times cited two officials who indicated that the proposal was conveyed to Iran through Pakistan.
The Guardian UK however reports that the extent to which the plan has been disseminated among Iranian officials remains uncertain, as does the likelihood of Iran accepting it as a foundation for negotiations.
But, as reported by Israel’s Channel 12 news, the 15 points outlined in the plan are as follows:
Iran must dismantle its nuclear capabilities;
Iran is to commit to refraining from pursuing additional nuclear weapons;
Iran will cease further enrichment of nuclear material;
All enriched materials are to be delivered to Saba according to a schedule established by the US, Israel and Iran;
The Natanz, Isfahan, and Fordow nuclear facilities are to be decommissioned;
The Atomic Energy Agency will be granted access to all nuclear information pertaining to Iran’s program;
Iran will abandon its proxy model;
Iran will halt its funding and arming of proxies in the region;
The Strait of Hormuz will remain open as a free maritime zone, unobstructed in the future;
Iran will restrict the number and range of its missiles;
Any further use of its missiles will be solely for self-defense purposes;
All sanctions imposed on Iran will be lifted;
Iran will receive assistance in developing a civil nuclear project in Bushehr;
The snapback threat against Iran will be eliminated;
The US and Israel will support Iran in promoting and developing a civil nuclear project in Bushehr for electricity generation.
