The Central Bank of Nigeria has dismissed as false the viral image claiming the introduction of a ₦5,000 banknote featuring Bola Tinubu.
The image, widely circulated on social media, sparked debate among users over its authenticity. However, the apex bank clarified via its official X handle, stating, “This content is fake. Let the public be guided.”
The CBN also reminded the public that similar claims about the introduction of ₦5,000 and ₦10,000 notes were debunked in 2025, urging Nigerians to disregard such misinformation.
