President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has promoted Alhaji Ibrahim Kabiru Masari to the position of Special Adviser on Political Affairs.
The appointment was announced in a State House press release on Thursday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.
Masari, a close political ally of the president, previously served as Senior Special Assistant on Political Affairs after he was first appointed by Tinubu in 2023.
According to the presidency, the promotion reflects the administration’s confidence in Masari’s political experience and contributions to the president’s political operations.
The Katsina-born politician had earlier served as the welfare secretary of the All Progressives Congress during the tenure of former party chairman Adams Oshiomhole.
As Special Adviser on Political Affairs, Masari will work alongside Yau Darazo, who was appointed to the same role by President Tinubu in July 2023.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Alhaji Ibrahim Kabiru Masari, his close ally, as Special Adviser on Political Affairs,” the presidency said in the statement.
“President Tinubu first appointed Masari in 2023 as a Senior Special Assistant for the same role.”
The presidency noted that Masari’s new role will further strengthen political coordination and engagement within the administration.
