David Egbede, March 6, 2026

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Parliament is celebrating 25 years of service to the people of West Africa by launching a commemorative programme across seven member states.

The announcement was made on Thursday in Abuja by the Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, Hadja Ibrahima integration.

Mr. Biodun Ariyo, Head of Global Trade and Structured Finance at Providus Bank, underscored the importance of trade as a driver of economic growth and regional cooperation.

“We are proud to support this initiative. Strengthening networks and collaboration across borders will enhance trade and economic opportunities for businesses, while enabling financial institutions to expand access to trade financing and reinforce cross-border relationships,” Ariyo remarked.
