President Bola Tinubu has directed security agencies to carry out a comprehensive investigation into the brutal killing of a housewife, Fatima Abubakar, and her six children in the Chiranci community of Kano State.
In a statement released on Monday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President strongly condemned the incident, describing it as a barbaric act, and expressed his condolences to the affected family. “The President condemned the action as barbaric and condoled with the bereaved family over the tragedy,” the statement said.
Tinubu also commended the police for the swift arrest of the principal suspects and directed security agencies to ensure diligent prosecution. “The President commended the police for the swift arrest of the principal suspects and ordered the investigation and diligent prosecution of the suspects,” the statement added.
The President assured Nigerians of the Federal Government’s commitment to protecting lives and property, stressing that such acts of violence would not be tolerated.
REAL BROADCASTING NETWORK had earlier reported that seven persons, including a 35-year-old woman and her six children, were killed on Saturday in a violent attack at Dorayi Chiranci Quarters in Kano. The victims, identified as Fatima Abubakar and her children, were attacked at their residence by suspected hoodlums who reportedly broke into the house and inflicted fatal injuries using dangerous weapons.
