Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Zamfara State to formally receive Governor Dauda Lawal into the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Vice President, who is representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is expected to lead the official reception of members of the governor’s cabinet and thousands of supporters into the APC at a grand event scheduled to hold at the Gusau Trade Fair Complex.
On arrival, Shettima was received by Governor Dauda Lawal and several state governors, including Umar Namadi (Jigawa), Uba Sani (Kaduna), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), and Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri (Adamawa). Also present were Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau), Abba Kabir Yusuf (Kano), and Ahmad Aliyu (Sokoto).
Other dignitaries on ground included the Deputy Senate President, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the APC National Chairman, and the Chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum, Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, alongside ministers, party leaders, and other stakeholders.
The event is expected to draw a large crowd as preparations continue for the formal reception ceremony.
