Raphinha Slams Refereeing After FC Barcelona Exit to Atlético Madrid in Champions League Clash

David Egbede, April 15, 2026April 15, 2026

Raphinha has criticized the officiating following FC Barcelona’s Champions League defeat to Atlético Madrid, claiming the team was unfairly treated during the tie.

The Brazilian forward, speaking after the match, expressed frustration over refereeing decisions, insisting Barcelona were disadvantaged throughout the encounter.

He argued that repeated questionable calls had a major impact on the outcome.
Barcelona, coached by Hansi Flick, were eliminated on aggregate despite a strong fightback in the second leg, which was not enough to overturn the first-leg deficit.

UEFA is expected to review the match incidents as part of its standard disciplinary assessment following post-match complaints and reactions.
