Best-selling female rapper Nicki Minaj has filed a lawsuit against Nigerian influencer Dr Penking over allegations of cyberbullying and copyright infringement.
The social media personality shared an old video of Minaj on X on Saturday, captioning it: “Nicki Minaj should understand that she has gotten old and retire.”
Minaj responded by questioning whether he had her permission to post the video, describing the act as harassment. She subsequently informed Dr Penking that he had been named as a defendant in her legal action.
“Do you have permission to use this video that I filmed years ago to harass me on this or any platform? You’ve just been added to the suit,” she noted.
Dr Penking, in his defence, mentioned freedom of speech and remarked that Minaj is 43 and should retire.
He also said his team is prepared for the lawsuit, stating that the video is publicly available, and he pointed out that an opinion is not considered harassment.
