The Nigerian Army has released video footage confirming the elimination of about 63 suspected Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province fighters in Mallam Fatori, located in Abadam Local Government Area.

RBN reports that the militants were killed after launching a coordinated assault on the 68 Battalion’s main defensive position early Wednesday, attempting to overrun the base.

In a statement shared via its official X account, Nigerian Army Headquarters said the attackers advanced on foot from Duguri, supported by several armed drones, but were ultimately repelled by troops.

The statement noted that the troops have “since commenced exploitation operations to pursue and eliminate the fleeing terrorists, while Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance platforms are being deployed to dominate the adversary’s withdrawal routes and prevent regrouping”.

In the video shared on X, several lifeless bodies of the terrorists could be seen lying at the scene.
