The Kwankwasiyya Movement has announced that former Kano State Governor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, will officially defect to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Monday, March 30.

The disclosure was made in a notice released on Saturday night.

According to the statement, the defection ceremony will take place at Gidan Kwakwasiyya on Miller Road, Bompai, Kano State, and is scheduled to begin at 12pm.

The development marks a significant turn in the political landscape ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.

Kwankwaso previously contested the 2023 presidential election under the platform of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), finishing fourth with 1,496,687 votes.

He trailed behind President Bola Tinubu of the APC, Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, and Peter Obi of the Labour Party.

His planned move to the ADC comes shortly after a meeting with Atiku Abubakar in Abuja on Saturday.
