The rerun election for the State House of Assembly seat in Ungogo Local Government Area of Kano recorded an unexpectedly low voter turnout, with only a handful of voters seen at polling units as of 11 a.m.
At Panisau Polling Unit, five electoral officers arrived around 8 a.m., but by 10:30 a.m., only six voters had cast their ballots.
Likewise, at Polling Unit 003 in Kera Panisau Ward, which has 804 registered voters, just 19 people had voted as of 11 a.m., according to the presiding officer, Sani Kabiru.
At Polling Unit 019 in Ezier, the presiding officer reported that only four out of 31 registered voters had participated in the election.
