The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has dismissed as false a purported Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) result slip circulating online, which claims a candidate scored 396 in the 2026 examination.
In a statement signed by its spokesman, Fabian Benjamin, the board described the document as fabricated and urged the public to ignore it.
Benjamin said the claim was misleading and should not have gained traction among informed Nigerians, stressing that the result format being circulated does not align with JAMB’s official template.
He explained that UTME results are currently “view-only,” making it impossible for candidates to generate or print result slips in the format being shared.
According to him, the registration number displayed on the fake slip also raises red flags.
“The Board’s registration numbers are system-generated and do not follow the pattern ‘20269’ as seen on the fake slip,” he said, adding that several inconsistencies clearly expose the document as fraudulent.
JAMB therefore advised candidates, parents and the general public to rely only on its official communication channels for accurate information regarding the 2026 UTME results.
“All results at the moment are view-only,” the statement reiterated, warning against the spread of unverified information.
