The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun Command, has convicted 17 traffic offenders at Ogere area of Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, before a mobile court for various offences.
The FRSC spokesperson, Mr Odunsi Afolabi, made this known in a statement made available to the newsmen on Wednesday in Abeokuta.
Afolabi said the mobile court session was presided over by Magistrate O.S. Fadahunsi, on Wednesday.
He described the development as part of the efforts of the FRSC to enforce road discipline and ensure safety on major highways.
“During the proceedings, a total of 17 offenders were arraigned for various traffic-related infractions following the presentation of evidence and admissions of guilt.
“The court, however, convicted all 17 individuals, with no discharges recorded for the day,” he said.
NAN reports that the Sector Commander, Corps Commander Akinwunmi Fasakin, said the stringent enforcement of traffic laws would reduce road accidents and ensure the free flow of traffic along the busy Ogere axis.
Fasakin urged motorists to remain law-abiding, stressing as the mobile court would continue its operations to penalise reckless driving and statutory violations.
