Former INEC Chairman Attahiru Jega Bereaved as Wife, Hadiza, Passes Away

Hajiya Hadiza, wife of former Independent National Electoral Commission chairman, Attahiru Jega, is dead.

The announcement was made by Bayero University Kano via its official social media page.

“Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un. With total submission to the will of Allah, we announce the passing of Hajiya Hadiza Attahiru Jega,” the statement read.

According to the university, her Janazah prayer is scheduled to hold after Zuhr on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at the National Mosque Abuja.

The institution also offered prayers for the deceased, saying, “May Allah grant her Aljannatul Firdaus and forgive her shortcomings. May He also grant the family the strength and patience to bear this loss. Ameen.”
