Fire Guts Popular Kano Market

A fire outbreak in the early hours of Monday has razed parts of Singa Market in Kano metropolis, leaving traders and residents in panic.

The inferno reportedly broke out at about 3:00 a.m., affecting several sections of the popular market, including Gidan Mazaf, Gidan Taki, and Gidan Katsinawa along Bello Road.

Eyewitnesses said the fire spread rapidly through the affected areas, destroying merchandise and other valuable property before emergency responders arrived at the scene.

As of the time of filing this report, the cause of the fire had not been confirmed, and there was no official information on whether lives were lost.
