The Federal Government has announced Friday, April 3, and Monday, April 6, 2026, as public holidays in celebration of this year’s Easter.
Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the declaration on behalf of the government in a statement issued by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani.
While extending Easter greetings to Christians across Nigeria and in the diaspora, the minister urged citizens to reflect on and practice the values of “selflessness, forgiveness, forbearance and love,” as demonstrated in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
He also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to policies aimed at fostering national renewal, economic growth, and shared prosperity.
