Dangote Refinery Again Increases Petrol Price to N1,175 Per Litre

David Egbede, March 13, 2026March 13, 2026

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has increased its petrol price back to ₦1,175 per litre, prompting depot operators in various locations to temporarily halt sales.

Earlier, on March 10, 2026, the refinery had reduced the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) by ₦100 to ₦1,075 per litre from the previous ₦1,175.

Depot operators, who had been selling petrol at an average of ₦1,100 per litre, paused transactions immediately following the refinery’s price hike.

The refinery has temporarily halted loading operations to reconcile stock levels and adjust to the updated pricing framework.

This revision is a response to the recent increase in global crude oil prices, which have risen from $91 to $100 per barrel for Brent crude, directly influencing the costs of refining.
